What Snap&Read users say
Snap&Read was a school-focused reading toolbar. Reviews praised read aloud and criticised some of its extra tools.
What they love
- Read aloud with highlighting. Reads webpages and documents aloud with the words highlighted.
- Reads inaccessible text. A screenshot reader could read text in images and other places normal read aloud can’t reach.
- Text leveling. Simplified vocabulary to make harder text easier to read.
- Study tools. Translation, annotation and source citing in the same toolbar.
What they complain about
- Retired. Everway ended Snap&Read licences on 31 December 2025 and folded its features into Read&Write.
- Simplify. Common Sense Education found simplified text could be harder to follow.
- Screenshot reader. The same review found it skipped words when reading from a screenshot.
- Low store scores. Third-party trackers show Chrome Web Store scores below 3 out of 5.
